Leadership Training and Training Camp Takeaways

Sep 2, 2026

Leadership training and training camp wrapped up Wednesday, September 2. Head coach Isaac Washburn spoke about getting to see his team in an inter-squad scrimmage as well as seeing his team work together throughout leadership training. The team worked on plan development and communication as well during the training.

“Week one of training camp wrapped up Friday night as our guys got their first taste of game action with an inter-squad scrimmage.  It was a good starting place to see chemistry continue to build and get a good gauge of some of the details that we need to continue to focus on as the start of regular season quickly approaches.” -Isaac Washburn

“Week two has started strong with the players getting more exposure to some of the unbelievable support our players have access to.  Both teams have been taken through a great leadership camp led by a couple of great hockey and performance minds in Kevin Hartzell and Kevin Ziegler.  We’re so fortunate to be able to have close friends of the organization that are willing to come in and pour into our players and share their knowledge and wisdom with all of our guys.” -Isaac Washburn

“Over the last week, we’ve spent quite a bit of time as a group talking about expectations that individuals have going into the season and how they have to be ready to take advantage of opportunities when they present themselves.  Just over the last 5 days, we’ve already seen a call-up to the NAHL as well as injuries create some early opportunities for guys to put their name in the mix for a bigger role to start the season.  Looking forward to seeing who will step up and really grab a bigger piece of the puzzle here in the early going.” -Isaac Washburn
