Jan 25, 2026

In a thrilling game at the Outpost Ice Arenas, the New Mexico Ice Wolves fell to the visiting El Paso Rhinos with a close 2-1 score. The Rhinos struck early in the first period with a goal by Levaniuk, setting the tone for a hard-fought match. Despite the Ice Wolves’ relentless offense, racking up 40 shots on goal, they were continually thwarted by the Rhinos’ standout goalie, Nathan Graybill, who made an impressive 39 saves. The Ice Wolves’ Jake Wenner reached a milestone with his 100th career point, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Rhinos. Kenneth Cadwallader scored the decisive goal in the second period, and despite several power-play opportunities and pulling the goalie for an extra attacker, the Ice Wolves couldn’t find the equalizer. The game ended without any scoring in the third period, marking a narrow victory for the Rhinos. The stage is set for an exciting rubber match tomorrow at 2 PM Mountain Time.
