(Albuquerque, NM) Tuesday, January 23, 2024 – The New Mexico Ice Wolves® and Outpost Ice Arenas today announced several community outreach events at Outpost Ice Arenas in Albuquerque closing out January through February 2024 with something for everyone in the family. The NA3HL NM Ice Wolves kick things off as they welcome Mayor Tim Keller on Saturday, January 27 at 6:30pm MT for a ceremonial puck drop and face off with ABQ Solid Waste giving away custom water bottles for fans. The following day Sunday, January 28, just before the 2pm game start, the NA3HL NM Ice Wolves have a special Host Family Recognition event celebrating the backbone of junior hockey by recognizing the host families who provide caring, supportive and family environment for players who come to Albuquerque from all over the world and need a home while they pursue their hockey goals and dreams.
A fan favorite special jersey returns on Thursday and Friday, February 1-2 when the NA3HL NM Ice Wolves wear special Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico uniforms. Following the series, the game-worn jerseys will be available on Dash Auctions with 100% of the proceeds going to Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico. The Friday, February 2 NA3HL game at 11am MT is also a field trip opportunity as the organization’s first-ever School Day Matinee invites New Mexico students to experience live hockey as the NA3HL South Division leading NM Ice Wolves play in the custom Ronald McDonald House Charities jerseys. Student and school groups have a unique opportunity to see NM Ice Wolves hockey with specially priced $10 tickets that include lunch along with reserved seats. The DASH auction for the Ronald McDonald House Charities jerseys will launch on Thursday, February1st at 6pm MT and be live through Wednesday, February 8 at 7pm MT. The Ronald McDonald House provides a comfortable “home away from home” for families seeking lifesaving medical treatment at local area hospitals for their children. The guest rooms provide safe and comfortable spaces for families to rest and recharge together following long days at the hospital. More than a roof over their heads, these accommodations relieve families of the stresses of finding a place to stay while far from home. This allows parents to be stronger partners in their children’s critical care. Anyone looking to help can either volunteer or donate at www.rmhc-nm.org. There will be a $750 buy-it-now option for the jerseys and all winners will have the option to have the jerseys signed by the player that wore the jersey or the entire team.
The NAHL NM Ice Wolves team also features community events in February starting on Friday, February 2 at 6:30pm MT with Community Outreach for Stroke Education by the Stroke Team from Presbyterian Hospital which is an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. The Stroke Team will be on hand at Outpost Ice Arenas sharing information about the critical signs and symptoms of stroke and the importance of seeking rapid treatment. Fans will be given squishy brains to take home as part of the event.
Fans will have a chance to see and meet a live wolf on Saturday, February 3rd as the Wanagi Wolf Fund and Rescue will be on hand to show a wolf up close and personal while teaching about the important work of the organization and how fans can get involved. The game starts at 6:30pm and the wolf will be at center ice pregame.
The NM Ice Wolves organization is also hosting a Roadrunner Food Bank collection at Outpost Ice Arenas Friday, January 26, 2024 – Sunday, February 4, 2024 with players for both NAHL and NA3HL teams picking up and delivering food collected. Fans who want to donate food items can simply bring them to Outpost Ice Arenas during the week or on gamedays and receive free admission for a NA3HL game or free skate rentals for any Public Skating session.
Closing out February 2024 is NA3HL NM Ice Wolves Age Out Night on Saturday, February 24 at 6:30pm MT recognizing and celebrating the players who are aging out of junior hockey. Each player will have their junior career stats displayed along with colleges they have committed to following their time with the NM Ice Wolves.
